Filter material «Ecolant».

«Ecolant» - a high-performance filter material, which is made on the basis of  low-ash anthracite and is  for water purification and water treatment. Material for filtering «Ecolant» is produced by high temperature incinerating of anthracite coal in the furnace (at t = 1200 ° C) with the following activation of red-hot surface of  thermoanthracite by vapour.

Unlike most of the filter materials (hudro-anthracites, filtrants) made by crushing of coal, with the following drying at 200 C, filtroantracite «Ecolant» passes through two important stages: char burning in the furnace  and the following activation of red-hot surface of  thermoanthracite by vapour. As a result of this process there is a  fundamentally new type of filter, which according to its physical and chemical parameters is close to some brands of activated carbon, and the price does not differ from the existing hydro-  and  filtroanthracites on the market.

As you know the most important hydrodynamic characteristics of  filter  material are its porosity and strength. Obtained by incinerating and subsequent activation filtroantracite  «Ecolant» is characterized by high surface porosity and strength of the structure. Because of the special importance of these parameters for the purpose of filtration examine them in more details.

Scientific evidence shows that the higher the porosity of the surface, the more efficient the  work of  filter. During the activation process by steam on the burnt anthracite surface there are  so-called micro-, macro- and mesopores, which in their turn provide filters «Ecolant» upgrade sorptive capacity. The porous structure of the filter material ensures better quality of small contaminants’ interception process, increases dirt capacity of the material. Consequently «Ecolant», having a porosity of at least 56%, is 3-4 times more efficient than conventional anthracite filter, the porosity of which does not exceed 10-15%. Using filtrantracite «Ecolant» as a sorbent at the physico-chemical purification of sewage of food industry enterprises allowed to reduce the amount of suspended particles on  98%; organic impurities on 83%; oils - 99.5%.

The durability of the filter material is determined by its mechanical strength. Mechanical strength is characterized by indicators of abradability  and grindability. Anthracites are considered to be  mechanically strong if abradability is  not exceeding 0.5% and grindability - 4%. Filtroantratcite «Ecolant», passed  the t high-temperature processing in the furnace and subsequent activation, obtains increased strength, which allow to  reduce significantly abradability  and grindability of the material. Due to the increased mechanical strength (abradability  and grindability), there is no destruction of the filter material in the process of  water purifying activity that significantly increase lifetime of this material and reduce the need for annual purchase of large volumes of filter material. Thus, the organization achieves significant cost savings and working hours,  purchasing the filter material «Ecolant» for water purifying activity.

In spite high porosity and strength indexes the filter material «Ecolant» also has a low moisture content, ash and sulfur, which is confirmed by the results of the laboratory tests of the International Independent Organization "RosUIK", specializing in the conducting of physical and chemical examinations of coal quality and products based on it.

The filter material «Ecolant» is non-toxic, does not produce toxic compounds and completely harmless to humans, which makes it suitable for cleaning and drinking-water treatment. Filter material «Ecolant» conforms to  the requirements of GOST R 51641-2000, GOST 51232-98, the applicable regulations to the granular of media filters, water treatment, significantly higher than the standardized value of process procedures for cleaning drinking and industrial water.

Packing of filter material «Ecolant» is carried out in polypropylene bags (like big-bag) with waterproof heat-insulating insert, which prevents the penetration of moisture and protects the material over long periods of time. The weight of the bag varies depending on the needs of the customer from 50 to 1000 kg.
